FAQ
Q. Who may make submissions to the Coffee Shop for Interrupted
Writers?
A. Anyone who has a neglected morsel of writing that he or she wants to revive
and convert to the status of previously dead.
Q. What is previously dead?
A. A piece of your writing that has been sitting idle, neglected, untouched for
over a year, that you are just now giving finger-to-keyboard resuscitation. It’s not dead
any more but it’s still in intensive care.
Q. How strict are you about that year limit?
A. I just made that up. You decide if something of yours has been previously
dead. No one will come to your house and look on your computer to see the last-changed
date.
Q. What is a joey?
A. Same thing as previously dead. Neglected morsel, etc., that is stuck in your
authorial fallopian tube. A joey is a baby kangaroo, one that is actually already
born and living in mom’s pouch. I cheated a bit on the metaphor.

Q. What do I submit?
A. Greetings, requests for support, a few sentences of your joey, offers of
support to others, jokes, stories you know about other writers who were once
stuck…..
Q. May I submit my entire novel?
A. No. If it’s good, it will keep the rest of us from writing ours. If it’s not
good, you don’t want us to know.
Q. What can I expect to get from participating in the Coffee Shop for
Interrupted Writers?
A. Encouragement, commiseration, stories, nudges, advice, and the reminder that
you are not alone. Oh yes, and the opportunity to offer all of these to
others.
